Jeff Kliment There is a refreshing honesty in this recording. Marisa Anderson gets straight to the heart of things and takes us into the light indeed.

rossjonathon Sci-Fi westerns are cool, and she is a great guitar player. Do you really need anymore reasons? Favorite track: Into the Light.

John Cratchley There's a great Cafe OTO set from Marisa of which i'm very fond...and this release confirms my thinking that she is a formidable guitar force to be reckoned with...wonderful multi-tracking here...someone has been listening to the way the great Lee Townsend records/produces Bill Frisell!

about

All songs written and played by Marisa Anderson on guitar, lap steel, pedal steel, electric piano and percussion. Leaving Appalachia and the Delta blues behind Anderson journeys west, into the heart of the sun. Written as the soundtrack to an imaginary science-fiction western film, the record’s ten songs trace the story of a visitor lost and wandering on the shifting borderlands of the Sonoran desert.
